LA, Inc., is committed to improve academic success by helping foster youth graduate from high school on time. In-school intervention provides personalized support for students in need of intensive academic attention. Unfortunately, less than 50% percent of foster youth graduate high school. Our enrichment programs are effective because they provide educational support such as mentorship and tutoring. Offered before and after school, these programs bring comprehensive support focusing on:

Increasing school attendance
Improving grades
Increasing passing scores in core curriculum such as English and Math
Increasing high school graduation rate/decreasing dropout rates
Enrollment of higher education.

With LA-TIP, we develop strategies and services to reduce the truancy rate of at-risk youth through evidence-based comprehension. Truancy prevention is an area of concern for educators, parents, community stakeholders, and juvenile justice agencies in Riverside and LA County. The program includes tutoring for youth with any subject they struggle with, mentoring to help with life challenges, and case management for any social service needs; this helps prevent students from dropping out of school while keeping them on a path to graduation and reduces the likelihood of the program participants entering the juvenile justice system. All of our services can be done virtually.
