The recent fires in Los Angeles have left devastating destruction in their wake, with over 28,000 acres scorched and thousands of homes and businesses lost. While the damage is staggering, so is the outpouring of support from individuals, organizations, and communities stepping up to help. At Living Advantage, Inc., we know that every effort—big or small—makes a difference, and we’re here to help you get involved.

From giving your time to offering resources, here are some ways you can take action and support those affected:
1. Give Your Time
Check on neighbors: Reach out to older adults, children, or those with health conditions to ensure they’re safe and supported.
Volunteer locally: Organizations like the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, YMCA LA, and L.A. Works are seeking volunteers to sort and distribute supplies.
Join a service corps: Paid service programs like the California Service Corps allow you to build skills while giving back to the community.
🚨 Please avoid traveling to impacted areas unless directed, as roads need to remain clear for first responders.
2. Share Resources and Information
Spread the word: Direct people to the 2025 Los Angeles Fires and California Community Resource Guide websites for updates and support services.
Donate supplies: Essentials like hygiene kits, non-perishable food, and clothing are urgently needed. Drop-off centers include the Pasadena Community Job Center, Collins & Katz Family YMCA, and many others.
3. Protect Against Poor Air Quality
Wear N95 or P100 masks, available for free at local libraries and resource centers.
Stay indoors with HEPA air purifiers when possible.
Avoid outdoor activities and refrain from using candles, incense, or non-HEPA vacuums indoors.
